Improving Health Together
The Huronia Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. It
is governed by a volunteer Board of
Directors. We are located northeast of Barrie in the rolling hills of
the Horseshoe Valley in the Township of Oro-Medonte.
The Huronia Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic provides primary health care services and preventive care to people of all ages. Whether
you need to have a complete physical or need to visit us with a minor
illness or to manage a chronic or complex illness, the clinic is here
for you or your family.
We
are staffed by two Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioners, a part-time Pharmacist, an
Administrative Lead and an Administrative Support staff. We have off-site collaborating physician partners. We work together as a team of professionals to meet your health care needs and goals. We are a growing clinic. We are expanding our current premises over the course of the year and we will be adding more clinical and administrative staff along the way.
Nurse
Practitioners are nurses that have additional education and licencing
to provide primary health care to individuals and families. They can do
complete physical examinations, order diagnostic tests like
ultrasounds, X-rays or mammograms, order bloodwork to screen for illness
or disease, diagnose illness and disease and prescribe medications
necessary for you. When care is beyond the Nurse Practitioner's scope
to manage, a physician is consulted. If necessary, you will be seen by
both the Nurse Practitioner and the visiting physician. For more information about Nurse Practitioners visit http://www.npao.org
